The 86-gallon Scotch bottle, which is comparable to 444 standard-sized bottles, is the world’s largest. It was sold for $ 1.4 million on Wednesday at an online auction, making it one of the most expensive bottles ever.

The bottle known as “Intrepid” Guinness World Records is around 6 feet tall and more than twice as wide as the typical man. It was the world’s largest bottle of scotch, whiskey, and whiskey when it was full last year.

Intrepid comprises a 32-year-old Macallan single malt scotch whiskey aged in two barrels at a Speyside distillery storage.

The bottle was obtained by a private international collector who wished to remain anonymous, according to Lyon & Turnbull, an auction firm based in Edinburgh.

Main Story:

Macallan, one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, was founded in 1884, and its whiskey bottles and barrels have set many world auction records. The 1988 Macallan barrel record of $ 1.3 million was set last month. The most expensive whiskey bottle was purchased at an auction after the previous owner purchased a barrel and then neglected it in a Scottish distillery’s storeroom. The ones that have been sold so far were also distilled using Macallan.

McCarran released a set of decanters containing the world’s oldest and rarest 81-year-old single malt whiskeys in February. A suggested retail price of $ 125,000 has been set. Scotland is home to some of the most well-known whiskey distilleries in the world, with major brands including Johnnie Walker, Ballantine’s, and Grant all having Scottish beginnings.
